I hope I will live long enough that she has some memory of me ~ When breath becomes air.

I have read Paul Kalanithi’s classic recently and the one sentence that touched me the most is that the author who is on his death bed, prays that he wants to just live long enough to create a memory of him to his daughter. No one apart from the father can utter these words. These words imply his love and willingness to fight out deadly cancer… not to earn, not to live a life he dreamt of… not to travel the world… not to eat to become the writer he wanted to be but just to create enough memory for his child.

This book has traveled with me during my lengthy travel regimen thanks to the covid restrictions in the countries I have come across, and this has kept me running all the way. This has created a belief to live day after day and not to be afraid of any obstacles coming my way.

I personally think there will not be any time better than this pandemic to read this book. Death is unavoidable someday but what makes life worth living in the face of death is something everyone will have their own version to say.

It can be just a matter of seconds for breath to become thin air. However, it is worth fighting out till the last second and it is worth living every moment we have been gifted with…

See you in the next post till then take care and stay safe…
